WHO CAN BE ENTERED
Any named columnist who writes regularly for any magazine, either printed or online, and who has contributed to the magazine at least three times in the past year (1 August 2010 to 31 July 2011)
If the columnist writes regularly for more than one publication each publication may enter
The columnist must be entered by his/her editor

Complete the form below
Choose three columns to be submitted. They may be from consecutive issues but must be from the period 1 August 2010 to 31 July 2011
Provide 16 copies of an issue containing one of the three columns (print titles only)
Write a supporting statement of no more than 500 words which- explains who the magazine is aimed at and its position in its marketplace
- tell us the brief that the columnist is given and explains how this is fulfilled
- explains how the columnist reflects the ethos of the magazine and what he/she adds to the overall title
- gives evidence of reader response and reaction to the columns
You need to provide 16 copies of the entry form, the three columns and of your supporting statement - photocopies are acceptable. All entries must be printed on A4 paper and should not be bound. Please keep a copy for your records
Send these, with payment if applicable, to the BSME office. Please make sure that the entry form and the supporting statement are signed by the editor and columnist
If you were not a member of the BSME on 1 June 2011, a single payment of £150 inc VAT must accompany your entry. Please either enclose a cheque payable to the British Society of Magazine Editors or click here to pay online. A VAT receipt will be sent out in due course. However, if you are a BSME member or have paid to enter another category, then no entry fee applies

Entries will be accepted only between 10.00am and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday
Incomplete entries will not be processed
Entries received from non-members without payment will not be processed
Entries and supporting material will not be returned
